Odds-on favourite Noble De Love dashed clear after hitting the front approaching the 100m following a prominent run to make it back-to-back wins. He's got more points in hand on this surface. Shimmer And Shine finished well sitting handy with cover from a wide gate to grab second 50m out. He's a winner waiting to happen on either surface. Specked late, Phantom Falcon just wore down Amazing Star for third after tracking him in the run one-off from a wide gate. He's starting to get on track in his past two starts but do prefer him in Class Four. Amazing Star went a bit too hard after leading clearly from a middle draw. It was a good effort first-up this term following leg problems. Goldie Flanker made some ground without ever looking a chance down the outside travelling third from the rear. The sharp rise in weight was too much to overcome. Elite Patch ran on OK from behind midfield in his debut but will likely need more time to acclimatise.

Race Nine: (413) - PEONY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

Whilst in the Parade Ring, BIZ POWER had its left front plate refitted.

BIZ POWER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

On arrival at the Start, C Y Ho expressed concern regarding the action of ROMAN IMPERO.

ROMAN IMPERO was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that after the necessary consultations the horse was suitable to race.

ELITE PATCH and BIZ POWER began only fairly.

HARBOUR ALERT stumbled at the start.

From a wide barrier, ROMAN IMPERO was shifted across behind runners in the early stages and for the majority of the race was detached from the main body of the field.

The performance of ROMAN IMPERO was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, ROMAN IMPERO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Passing the 800 Metres, NOBLE DE LOVE hung in despite the efforts of its rider, causing HARBOUR ALERT to be hampered and NOBLE DE LOVE to become unbalanced after shifting in towards the running rail making the turn approaching the 700 Metres.

Approaching the 300 Metres, SUN SUN FA FA was shifted to the outside of GOLDIE FLANKER after momentarily racing in restricted room between that horse and SPEEDY LUCK.

A veterinary inspection of SPEEDY LUCK immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

The performance of SPEEDY LUCK, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, SPEEDY LUCK will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

NOBLE DE LOVE and SHIMMER AND SHINE were sent for sampling.
