Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (408) - DAISY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
ALL YOU NEED was withdrawn on 9.2.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left hind cannon) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter CHARITYDREAM (K C Leung).
Before being allowed to race again, ALL YOU NEED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
CHARITYDREAM was slow to begin.
ALCAZAR began only fairly.
GENEROUS HEART shifted out at the start and bumped MASSIVE MILLENNIUM.
From a wide barrier, DR RACE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, BOND ELEGANCE failed to muster speed and shortly after the start was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
FAME AND FORTUNE, which was racing wide and without cover near the 700 Metres, was taken wider still near the 600 Metres by DR PROACTIVE which shifted out away from the heels of MR RIGHT.
Near the 650 Metres, EVER STRONG was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of ALCAZAR.
After being shifted to the outside of runners rounding the Home Turn, BOND ELEGANCE then commenced to lay in and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of EVER STRONG which was taken out by GENEROUS HEART.
BOND ELEGANCE was then shifted to the inside of EVER STRONG near the 300 Metres when that horse was bumped by GENEROUS HEART.
At the entrance to the Straight, DR PROACTIVE raced tight outside MR RIGHT which was laying out.
After the race, J Moreira expressed concern regarding the action of BOND ELEGANCE.
A veterinary inspection of BOND ELEGANCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, BOND ELEGANCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of CHARITYDREAM immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
The performance of CHARITYDREAM, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, CHARITYDREAM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
COBY OPPA and BORNTOACHIEVE were sent for sampling.

Favourite Coby Oppa drew clear for the win after leading from a wide gate to build on a pleasing debut on the turf. He's got a nice future ahead of him. Veteran Borntoachieve stuck on well to just take second in a blanket finish of four for the minors following a prominent run on the fence. Silvestre de Sousa's done little wrong for seconds in his past two starts on this surface but is a simple ride and move to a claimer might produce a winning result. Alcazar finished well after a deep run behind midfield after a sluggish start to snatch third from Ever Strong. He's turned things around for placings on both surfaces in three of his past four starts but is better suited over a longer trip. Ever Strong came on nicely down the outside after settling fourth last from a wide gate to just miss a placing. It was another solid effort in defeat following back-to-back wins. Generous Heart finished nicely but left things too late following a patient ride second from the rear.
