Recap by phillip woo

Ever Laugh came on well to take control 150m out travelling handy with cover after jumping nicely for a second straight win despite equal top-weight. I Do found one better after putting his head in front 250m out settling one off chasing the leader Flame Lily from a wide gate. Swot Indicator stayed on well following a prominent run to grab a placing 50m out in his best run to date. He's approaching a bottom. My Winner got going late after travelling three from the back from a wide gate to fill a Quartet spot. Majestic Endeavour kept on reasonably well settling one-off in midfield to pick up a minor cheque. It wasn't a bad run with a return to Class Four following a bottom grade win. Flame Lily was on his tippy toes 100m out after hunting to the lead from a wide gate. He's better ridden for luck. Alcazar ran on without menacing from beyond midfield. He's shown progress in his past two starts but may be better served back in Class Five.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (349) - HOLLYWOOD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters

GREAT HARVEST began only fairly and then was crowded for room between CHATER THUNDER and KEEP WINNING which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.

ALCAZAR shifted out at the start and inconvenienced FULL OF CHANCES.

From a wide barrier, MY WINNER was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

When being steadied to obtain cover, ALCAZAR got its head up on a number of occasions passing the 1500 Metres.

After the 1000 Metres, CHATER THUNDER was left racing wide and without cover.

Rounding the Home Turn, CHATER THUNDER became badly unbalanced and shifted out after being bumped by ALCAZAR (D Whyte) which was shifting to the outside of MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR.

MY WINNER, which was following CHATER THUNDER, was shifted out away from the heels of that horse in consequence.

D Whyte was severely reprimanded and advised whilst competitive riding is encouraged and that whilst the shift at this time was not an abrupt one and one which occurs in a lot of races in Hong Kong, nonetheless he has an obligation to ensure that he exercises due care when shifting ground so that other horses do not become unbalanced as a result of those shifts.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of S de Sousa (FLAME LILY), 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels all the way to the end of the race where circumstances permit.

EVER LAUGH and I DO were sent for sampling.
