Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Jumbo Happiness came on strongly after peeling out rounding the final bend following a rail's run in midfield to mow down Cheer Win in the final few metres for a maiden win at his sixth outing. It wasn't a strong race but the move to blinkers did do its job and he's still open to improvement. Cheer Win slipped the field by nearly three lengths at the 250m after leading from the wide gate and was nipped close to home. At only three years of age, he's still learning and can add to an earlier win at Sha Tin if he remains in the grade. Good Companion was given every chance in the box-seat and only held his ground while wandering under pressure. He may need a move to blinkers to keep his focus on the race. Dr Race was no threat to the placegetters following a one-out, oneback run but was clearly next best. He's gone all right in two starts following a fetlock injury but may need to drop a few points more to reach a desirable level. Fair Comment ran on from midfield to finish a distant fifth in an improved effort with a switch to the Valley but will require more time and experience. Carefree Let Go never ran on from behind midfield. He's pretty ordinary and prefers Sha Tin.
