Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Happy Friendship eased back to travel fourth along the fence after leading early on, revved up to improve coming to the final bend, swept to the front 300m out and drew clear for a second win this term. In a blanket finish for the minor placings, Dragon Harmony ran on steadily five deep following a handy run to grab second 60m out in an improved run with a drop in grade. Zero Energy Act eased into the open six deep at the 250m following a rails run behind midfield and finished well to snatch a placing. My Cup Overflows handed up to Sledge Hammer soon after clearing to the front 1,300m out, straightened three deep and kept grinding away to just edge Sledge Hammer for a Quartet spot. Sledge Hammer grudgingly gave way after working to the front 1,200m out in an improved run with a return to Class Five. Natural Friendship made some ground from midfield in an improved run with a return to the dirt.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (658)-CHEERS HONG KONG HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1800Metres

TRIPLE KING was slow to begin.

Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, SLEDGE HAMMER got its head on the side and hung out, resulting in MIZZEN GREY being inconvenienced.

SLEDGE HAMMER continued to hang out and after the 1400 Metres was allowed to improve its position into the lead.

Passing the 1500 Metres, TRIPLE KING was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SLEDGE HAMMER.

After the 1400 Metres, SWEET BEAN was left racing wide and without cover.

The performance of TRIPLE KING, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, TRIPLE KING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After the race, M Chadwick (MIZZEN GREY) reported that it had been intended for the horse to be ridden in a forward position, however, despite being vigorously ridden along, it failed to muster speed.

K Teetan reported that it had been intended for DRAGON ENERGY to be ridden in a handy position, however, despite being ridden along the horse did not show sufficient pace and was required to race further back in the field than had been hoped.

He said DRAGON ENERGY travelled satisfactorily in the middle stages, however, when the pace quickened it came off the bridle and then finished off the race only one-paced.

A veterinary inspection of DRAGON ENERGY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of SWEET BEAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HAPPY FRIENDSHIP and DRAGON HARMONY were sent for sampling.
