Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (627)-THE ARCULLI TROPHY (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1200Metres
DA VINCI proved difficult to load.Before being allowed to race again, DA VINCI will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
GREAT SKY was slow to begin and then failed to muster speed despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages.
Passing the 1100 Metres, GREAT SKY was steadied away from the heels of LORD SINCLAIR which shifted in.
Approaching the 900 Metres, BEAUTY CONNECTION, which made heavy contact with the running rail of its own accord, became badly unbalanced and lost ground.
Passing the 600 Metres, DIAMOND MYSTERIOUS shifted out when awkwardly placed behind BEAUTY CONNECTION and as a consequence made contact with GRAND PLUS, resulting in that horse being hampered when taken out across the heels of ELITE SPIRIT.
In the early part of the Straight, HAPPY METEOR was awkwardly placed inside the heels of STARTLING POWER when improving to the inside of that horse where there was tight racing room.
Over the concluding stages, LORD SINCLAIR was inconvenienced by GRAND PLUS which shifted out under pressure.
Throughout the race, SKY HERO travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of STARTLING POWER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of DIAMOND MYSTERIOUS immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, DIAMOND MYSTERIOUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
DIAMOND MYSTERIOUS, HAPPY METEOR and SKY HERO were sent for sampling.

Happy Meteor travelled nicely on the back of the speed, stayed to the inside upon straightening and responded nicely to take control passing the 200m in his first go on the surface. Well-punted late, Sky Hero went forward out deep from a wide gate to sit prominent without cover, briefly hit the front approaching the 200m and found one better on the day. Grand Plus ran his usual honest race on the surface when getting going two from the right after biding his time in the second half of the field to fill a placing. Elite Spirit closed off well with two wider out after a deep run behind midfield to fill a Quartet position. Lord Sinclair made some ground widest out without menacing after travelling second from the rear. Good Luck Boy didn't let down as expected following a one-off run with cover in midfield. Da Vinci was yielding ground 150m out after poking his head in front at the 250m following a pace-stalking run. Favourite Diamond Mysterious didn't make much of an impression after travelling fourth from the rear despite a feather weight. Startling Power straightened a length on top after clearing to the front 900m out but was on his tippy toes passing the 200m.
