Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (448)-SHAM SHUI PO HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres
LONDON CITY was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore).Before being allowed to race again, LONDON CITY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
When parading, STRATUM POWER made contact with a rail.
On arrival at the barriers, STRATUM POWER was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be suitable to race.
SHOW MISSION began awkwardly and lost ground.
TEN SPEED began only fairly and then was bumped shortly after the start by WISKY which got its head on the side and shifted out away from BEST JADE TRIUMPH.
PEACE COMBINATION shifted out at the start and bumped CAREFREE LET GO which was in turn taken out onto BEST JADE TRIUMPH.
From a wide barrier, MAJOR CONNECTION was steadied in the early stages and taken across behind runners, however, for the majority of the race travelled wide and without cover and raced keenly.
CAREFREE LET GO, VICTOR EMPEROR and CIRCUIT KING were sent for sampling.

Well-punted late, Victor Emperor finished well four deep following a prominent run along the fence to take control 100m out for a second win following an earlier success at Sha Tin. Circuit King rushed forward from a wide gate to share the lead with Peace Combination, went a half-length clear rounding the final bend and grudgingly gave way in the run to the wire. He'll be picking up a win shortly over this Valley trip. Pearl Win kept grinding away to just miss a Quinella spot after peeling into the open with two wider out upon straightening following a one-out, one-back run. Early favourite Wisky made some ground to finish a distant fourth after travelling beyond midfield between horses in a pleasing debut run. Post-time favourite Carefree Let Go swung the final bend with one wider out following a handy run with cover and only held his ground in the run to the wire. Best Jade Triumph made some ground near the inside without menacing after saving ground behind midfield. Peace Combination was pestered for the lead with Circuit King to his outside and was giving ground 150m out.
