Recap by phillip woo
Firming late, Contentment parked outside the leader Beauty Flame, advanced to the front 150m out and kept on gamely thereafter for a fifth win from six outings over this trip. Beauty Flame cornered a half-length on top after dictating the run and just held off the fast-finishing Beauty Only for second. Beauty Only made his run second from the rear following a sluggish break, failed to get a clear run until pulling out three deep at the 200m and finished strongly thereafter. He would have made it interesting with unimpeded running. Favourite Gold-Fun came up flat following a one-out, one-back run. Dundonnell was in traffic in midfield near the fence, pulled out sharply to bump Charles The Great at the 250m and ran on steadily thereafter. Multivictory was one-paced over the final 150m following a box-seat run.
