Chaos as plane is caught in cartel crossfire after Mexico recaptures El Chapo’s son

Passengers on a commercial flight ducked for cover after the aircraft was hit by gunfire during take-off at the Culiacán airport in northern Mexico on January 5, 2023. Aeromexico officials said the fuselage of the plane was damaged but no one was hurt. The aeroplane was caught in a cartel crossfire after Mexico recaptured Ovidio Guzmán, the son of drugs kingpin El Chapo, who is languishing in a US prison.
