World’s longest-ever ‘torta’ sandwich made in just 2 minutes in Mexico

Mexican cooks prepared the longest “torta” sandwich ever recorded on August 3, 2022, at the 17th annual torta festival in Mexico City. Multiple chefs worked together to create a torta 74 metres (242ft) long and weighing at least 800 kilograms (1,764lbs). A time record was also broken at the event, with the torta being assembled in just two minutes and nine seconds. Different from the traditional sandwich, the torta is bigger in size and can be made up of a variety of products. Every section of the record-breaking torta had a different flavour, each representing local recipes from across the country.
