Amy Fu Kit-yu, a Life Science professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, told the Post that she and her research team wish to complete the preclinical study for a potential cure for Alzheimer’s disease in three years. Fu has been working under a team led by university president Professor Nancy Ip Yuk-yu. Her team has also developed a blood test which can identify the early stages of dementia with an accuracy rate of nearly 90 per cent.
