Meet the Congolese model fighting against prejudice in Hong Kong’s fashion industry

Harmony Ilunga was often told her brand of beauty wasn’t right for Hong Kong’s notoriously cutthroat fashion industry. Instead of accepting that assessment, she started her own modelling agency representing women of colour. Today, the Harmony HK agency represents a diverse range of talented models from countries in Africa, Southeast Asia and South Asia. The South China Morning Post sat down with the 22-year-old to discuss her battles for acceptance, and why she wants to be a role model for younger generations.
