Nato started its largest air exercise in history in Germany on June 12, 2023. About 250 aircraft from 25 Nato nations and its partners will participate in the drills, while more than 2,000 flights will be carried out over the North and Baltic Seas. The exercise, dubbed “Air Defender 23”, came under the shadow of the Ukrainian war, but a German military official said it is not “directed against anyone”. The exercise will end on June 23, 2023.
