Top diplomats from China, Japan and South Korea held a rare trilateral meeting in the South Korean city of Busan on November 26, 2023. It was the first face-to-face diplomatic talks involving the three nations since 2019, before Covid-19 and geopolitical tensions put meetings on hold. The diplomats agreed to revive long-shelved plans for a summit of the Asian powerhouses.
