Relief for Chinese students at end of high-stakes ‘gaokao’ college entrance exams

Most of the nearly 12 million Chinese students who registered for the 2022 gaokao, completed their national college entrance exams on June 10, 2022. Taking place this year from June 7-10, the gaokao is considered the most important exam in China. It can make or break a young person’s future as it largely determines whether they can enter university and what careers await them.
