Philippine classrooms reopen after more than two years of Covid-19 restrictions

Millions of children in the Philippines returned to school as the academic year started on August 22, 2022. For many, it's their first time since the Covid-19 pandemic began over two years ago. The Philippines is one of the last countries in the world to resume full-time, in-person lessons, sparking warnings that the prolonged classroom closures have worsened the country’s education crisis.
