Superhero ‘twin mums’ open free school for underprivileged children in Indonesia

Twins Sri Irianingsih and Sri Rossyati established the Kartini Emergency School in 1983 for pupils from low-income families in the Indonesian capital. For the last 40 years, students, parents and locals have been affectionately calling them “twin mums”. By teaching academics as well as practical skills, the twin mothers hope to keep their students from returning to a life on the streets.
