China’s People's Liberation Army does live-fire drills in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region

Chinese troops conducted live-ammunition tactical drills in high-altitude areas of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on January 1-3, 2022. The first major exercises of  the new year for the Xinjiang military command of the People's Liberation Army took place in the Karakoram Mountains and reached an altitude over 4,500 metres (14,760ft) to test the combat capacity of soldiers in such high-altitude areas. The drills included simulated enemy attacks, drone reconnaissance missions and firearms training.
