China’s carbon neutral goal

China completes its first greenhouse gas observation network

The first greenhouse gas observation station network has been completed in China after 40 years of construction. The network includes 60 high-precision observation stations built across the country. The first observation station was constructed in Beijing and began operations in 1982. The network comes with an evaluation system, which can detect the effectiveness of the country’s carbon neutrality actions. The China Meteorological Administration said on December 18, 2021, that the network will provide data for helping China meet its pledge to reach carbon neutrality by 2060.
