A Japan Airlines plane has caught fire at Tokyo’s Haneda airport. The aircraft reportedly burst into flames after colliding with a coastguard aircraft. JAL Flight 516 took off earlier on January 2, 2024, from Hokkaido’s Shin Chitose airport. Japan Airlines said all 379 passengers and crew on board were safely evacuated from the burning aircraft. Local video showed a large eruption of fire and smoke from the side of the plane as it taxied on the runway before the wing caught fire.
