Heightened security at G7 meetings after apparent smoke bomb attack on Japanese PM

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida vowed to increase security as the nation hosts Group of 7 (G7) meetings following the apparent “smoke bomb” blast that happened during one campaign event on April 15, 2023. Kishida escaped harm and the suspect in the alleged attack is under arrest.
