Japan’s ancient capital of Nara is known for the more than 1,300 wild deer that roam through a main park. However, a record influx of tourists has led to a surge in the amount of litter in the area, posing a threat to the health of the animals. Armed with gloves, tongs and dustpans, a squad of litter pickers known as “Beautiful Deer” are fighting back.
