US, South Korea conduct joint amphibious landing drills after North unveils new warheads

The US and South Korean marine corps conducted their first large-scale amphibious landing exercise in five years on March 29, 2023, as North Korea unveiled new and smaller nuclear warheads. The drills followed the docking of a US carrier strike group led by the US aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. Pyongyang maintains the joint drill is a rehearsal for an invasion.
