An Air Busan aircraft caught fire at South Korea’s Gimhae International Airport on January 28, 2025, while preparing to depart for Hong Kong. Local authorities said all 169 passengers and seven crew members were evacuated from the Airbus A321ceo plane, and three sustained minor injuries. The incident happened about a month after the deadliest air disaster on South Korean soil, when a Jeju Air flight from Bangkok crashed while making an emergency belly landing at Muan Airport. The December 29 disaster killed all but two of the 181 passengers and crew on board.
