South Korea’s Constitutional Court ruled on March 24, 2025, to reinstate the powers of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo as acting president, marking the latest twist in the country’s turbulent politics. Lawmakers moved to impeach Han less than two weeks after he took over as acting leader from suspended president Yoon Suk-yeol, who was himself impeached over his short-lived declaration of martial law in December.
