At least 96 people have been confirmed killed after a plane crash in South Korea’s southwestern Muan airport on December 29, 2024.  Video of the crash showed the plane apparently with its landing gear still not extended as it slid down a runway before it slammed into a fence and burst into flames. Firefighters said two people had been pulled from the wreckage alive, but the death toll could rise as rescue efforts continue focusing on the tail section of the jet. Jeju Air flight 7C2216 reportedly had 175 passengers and six crew members on board while returning from the Thai capital Bangkok.
