An arrest warrant for South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol expired on January 6, 2025, as investigators failed to detain the impeached leader. The country’s anti-corruption agency asked the police to take over the execution of the arrest warrant. However, the police said the document contained "legal flaws" that made it difficult for them to comply with the request. Investigating authorities also requested an extension of the warrant, but declined to say how long the extension would last if granted.
