Emergency crews were sifting through the wreckage of the Jeju Air plane which crashed on December 29, 2024. Of the 181 people on board, only two crew members survived and are currently receiving treatment in hospital. Authorities said investigators have retrieved the plane’s black box flight data and cockpit voice recorders, which are expected to hold crucial evidence. Witnesses said the plane may have struck a flock of birds before it belly-landed and slammed into a wall at the end of the runway in Muan in the nation’s southwest.
