Vietnam races to restore crumbling colonial villages to preserve part of its heritage

Vietnam has released a list of nearly 1,200 Hanoi villas, which carry the memories of generations, for preservation. Built during the French colonial period with nearly a century of history, most of them are in a state of disrepair, with cracks in the foundation, crumbling roofs and collapsing stairs. Hanoi officials reportedly aim to renovate 60 villas by 2025.
