Blackpink tour organiser in hot water with Vietnam over map of South China Sea

The Vietnamese government has launched an investigation into the company organising Blackpink’s tour weeks ahead of the K-pop group’s first concert in Hanoi. Local officials said July 6, 2023, that the inquiry followed complaints from Blackpink fans about the organiser’s website for showing a controversial map including China’s claims in the South China Sea marked by a nine-dash line. China and Vietnam both claim parts of the region including the disputed Spratly Islands.
