Survivors of civil-war sex abuse demand recognition and justice

During Nepal’s decade-long Maoist insurgency from 1996 to 2006, many young girls were subjected to sexual violence by officials while under arrest. Despite the abuses they endured, transitional governments showed indifference to survivors’ stories after the war. Now, these victims have decided to come forward and demand recognition and justice.
