Dozens killed in Pokhara plane crash, Nepal’s deadliest air tragedy in three decades

At least 68 people were confirmed dead as darkness forced search efforts to end for the day in Nepal after a passenger plane crashed on January 15, 2023. The Yeti Airlines flight was reportedly carrying 72 people from the capital Kathmandu to the tourist town of Pokhara. Footage shared on social media showed the plane flying dangerously low over a residential area before it sharply turned left and crashed. Nepal’s prime minister has set up a panel to investigate the accident.
