‘Incompetent climbers’ drive Everest death toll

Mount Everest had the deadliest climbing season since 2015. 11 people have died, including nine on the Nepal side and two on the Tibet side. Nick Hollis, a 45-year-old British mountaineer recounted the story of how he stepped over long-dead bodies of frozen climbers to reach the summit of Everest. He raised concerns about authorities issuing too many summit permits, and how inexperienced climbers put themselves and others in danger.
