Archaeologists have unearthed a rare gold relic in a ruined city in China’s northwest Shaanxi province. The gold sceptre which is believed to be more than 2,500 years old is the first such item to be found in China and may have been a symbol of authority in the feudal state called Rui, which existed during the Zhou dynasty (1046-256BC).
