Dinosaur embryo fossil could link modern birds to therapod ancestors

A dinosaur egg fossil unearthed in Hekou Formation in China’s Jiangxi province contains an unhatched embryo in a tucked posture, a position previously thought to be unique to birds. The embryo dates back to 66-72 million years ago. Researchers say the discovery was more evidence that today’s birds evolved from theropod dinosaurs.
