Dutch firm Spaceborn United has started conducting research to see if natural human conception and birth are possible on Mars. The company aims to conceive an embryo in space and then transfer it to a human back on Earth, but CEO and founder Egbert Edelbroek said the first launch with a human embryo will not be for another five or six years. For many experts, there remains a giant ethical challenge in such space reproduction research.
