India’s first solar observation mission entered the sun’s orbit on January 6, 2023, after a four-month journey. It marks the latest success for the world’s most populous nation in its pursuit of space exploration. The Aditya-L1 mission was launched in September and is carrying an array of instruments to measure and observe the sun’s outermost layers.
