An expectant couple in New Delhi has been taking precautions to protect their baby, including staying indoors, eating healthy food and using air purifiers. The Indian capital has been reeling from record levels of pollution, with a 24-hour air-quality index (AQI) reading on November 19, 2024, reaching 484 on a scale of 500 – the highest so far this year. Last month, India’s supreme court ordered the central government and state-level authorities to take action against the problem.
