Russia said Ukraine attempted to assassinate President Vladimir Putin with a drone attack targeting his residence at the Kremlin palace in Moscow late May 2, 2023 and in the early hours of the following day. A Russian statement said two unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down after what was described as “a planned terrorist attack and an assassination attempt targeting the President”. Ukraine has denied involvement in the alleged drone attack.
