Russia said on April 20, 2022, that it had successfully tested its new Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile. The missile is a new addition to the country’s nuclear arsenal. Russian President Vladimir Putin said the missile was Russia’s most advanced yet, and was capable of penetrating “all modern anti-missile defences.”
