Olivia Cotes-James had traumatic experiences with menstruation when she was young. But after more than a decade feeling isolated and alone as she suffered with heavy bleeding, period pain and cyclical acne, she came up with the idea of building a community and opening up conversations about menstrual health and equity. In 2019, LUÜNA was born. Today, her company has gone far beyond making a range of menstrual care products such as toxin-free pads, liners and period cups. LUÜNA also conducts workshops to provide healthcare tips and to try and reduce menstrual stigma that exists in many parts of Asia. In this episode of Listen to Her, Cotes-James speaks with Post correspondent Laura Westbrook about her goal of promoting menstrual equality and eradicating period poverty.
