Growing up being a plus-size child was never easy for Hong Kong singer-songwriter Lezlie Chan. She was bullied both in school and online, even though she lost almost 100 pounds (45kg) trying to fit in. Despite being depressed and traumatised from body-shaming, Chan became a plus-size model as a way to embrace body positivity. In April 2022, Chan took a step further and participated in Extra Beauty, a beauty contest for women with a Body Mass Index of 25 or above. In this episode of Listen to Her, Chan shares her life journey as a body-positivity advocate with Post correspondent Laura Westbrook.
