Taiwan tea farmers ‘powerless’ against changing climate and extreme weather

Taiwan is home to some of the best high-mountain tea in the world, but farmers are facing an uphill battle from climate change. Chien Shun-yih is among many tea farmers now struggling because the island’s crops were decimated by an extreme drought in 2020, followed by torrential rains in 2021. Researchers are looking for ways to help farmers cope with extreme and volatile weather.
