A Zhuhai car attack survivor said he heard a noise “like an earthquake” when an SUV started ramming into people exercising in the southern Chinese city on November 11, 2024. The man, identified as Mr Chen, told the Post he jumped into shrubbery near an exercise track to escape being injured like some of his companions were. At least 35 people were killed in the attack carried out by a 62-year-old man, reportedly angry about his divorce settlement. Police said the suspect, who tried to stab himself after the incident, has since been in a coma.
