The founder of tech giant Foxconn Terry Guo has picked veteran Taiwanese entertainer Tammy Lai to be his running mate in the 2024 Taiwan presidential election. Lai is a singer, author and actress, known for playing a presidential candidate who eventually wins in the recent high-profile Netflix drama Wave Makers. It is Gou’s second bid to become Taiwan's president after he failed to clinch the nomination from the main Kuomintang party in 2019.
