Chinese Premier Li Keqiang paid a visit to the southeastern city of Shenzhen from August 16-17, 2022, ahead of a key Politburo meeting at the end of the month, vowing support for new-energy vehicles and technology industries. The soon-to-retire Chinese official delivered a speech at Lotus Hill Park in the southern Chinese tech hub, saying that Shenzhen would be at the “forefront of China’s reform and opening up”.
