G7 protesters clashed with police on the streets of Hiroshima, Japan on May 21, 2023, as world leaders met to discuss the war in Ukraine as well as China. The protests, held in the city devastated by an atomic bomb attack in 1945, denounced the meeting of member countries holding nuclear capabilities. Organised by far-left extremist group “Revolutionary Communist League National Committee”, the demonstration was the latest that called on world leaders to abandon nuclear weapons.
