Bus crash kills at least 19 people near Bangladeshi capital, dozens injured

A speeding bus veered off a major road in central Bangladesh and plunged into a ditch, killing at least 19 people and injuring dozens. Police said the death toll from the accident, which happened on March 19, 2023, could rise further. The bus carrying more than 40 passengers was travelling to the capital, Dhaka, from the southwestern city of Khulna. The driver, who was among the dead, appeared to have lost control of the vehicle after a tire burst. An official said the cause was still under investigation.
