Trump downplays North Korea missile tests, backs Kim Jong-un’s criticism of Democrat challenger Biden

While on a four-day visit to Japan, US President Donald Trump has sided with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un over his criticism of former US vice-president and Democrat presidential hopeful Joe Biden. In statements made on May 27, 2019, Trump also downplayed Pyongyang’s recent missile tests, contradicting his own National Security Advisor John Bolton and his host Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who say the launches violated UN sanctions.
