Meet the Taiwanese hairstylist who ‘paints’ with customer clippings

Taiwanese stylist Allen Chen has become an internet celebrity after photos and videos showing him creating unique art using hair clippings were widely shared online. Chen uses hair trimmed from customers, and a process similar to that used by sand painters, to create detailed portraits of characters from books and films such as Aquaman, The Lion King and Titanic. Chen’s “hair sand paintings” are complemented by “living portraits” of famous faces shaved onto the heads of willing customers.
